Craftsmanship in Every Stone Surface

Completed Projects Showcasing Precision and Care

Your Local Experts in Stone Floor Restoration

At Hampshire Hard Floor Care, we focus solely on the areas where we have proven, specialist expertise. Our passion and primary skill set lie in cleaning, restoring, repairing and protecting natural and man-made stone floors and surfaces across Hampshire. Because we specialise — rather than generalise — you receive the highest level of craftsmanship, technical knowledge and personal care on every project.

We restore and maintain a wide range of surfaces, including:

Travertine Floors

We deep clean, fill pits, repair damage, hone and restore Travertine to a smooth, even, elegant finish — eliminating embedded soil, dull patches and etching.

Limestone Floors

Using safe, stone-specific methods, we remove stains, scratches and etch marks, enhancing clarity and restoring the natural beauty of Limestone while improving long-term protection.

Marble Floors & Surfaces

From dull, etched bathrooms to high-shine hallway floors, we expertly hone, polish and refine Marble, restoring a flawless, luxurious finish.

Slate Floors

We lift stubborn dirt from textured Slate, enhance natural tones and apply breathable sealers that protect and enrich the stone’s character.

Quarry Tiles & Terracotta

Professional deep cleaning removes decades of grime, oils and residues, reviving warm tones and preparing the surface for long-lasting sealing.

Porcelain & Ceramic Tiles

Even low-porosity tiles can trap soil in texture and grout lines. We professionally deep clean, restore brightness and apply protective treatments for easy maintenance.

Amtico, Karndean, LVT & Vinyl Floors

We strip away built-up residues, deep clean textured surfaces and apply fresh protective dressings to keep your luxury vinyl floors looking sharp and well-maintained.

Stone Worktops & Vanity Units

We restore Marble, Limestone, Travertine, Granite and Quartz worktops — removing etching, stains and dullness through deep cleaning, honing and polishing.

Fireplace Stone Restoration

Soot removal, stain lifting, honing and polishing for Marble, Limestone, Slate and Sandstone fireplaces to bring back clarity and a clean, refined appearance.

Stone Repairs

We repair chips, cracks, pits and worn areas using colour-matched resins and advanced blending techniques for seamless results.

Marine Stone Services (Yachts & Superyachts)

Salt, humidity and movement demand specialist care. We restore Marble and Granite onboard vessels across Hampshire marinas using low-noise, low-dust systems.

Commercial Hard Floor Care

We offer professional cleaning, restoration and maintenance for hotels, restaurants, offices, retail spaces, schools and managed properties.

We’ve even travelled internationally — including a project in Singapore, where we restored nearly 50 marble vanity units — demonstrating the level of trust placed in our skills.

While we support selected commercial clients, our true passion lies in restoring and preserving the beautiful floors and stone surfaces within family homes.

Dedication to Precision and Quality

At our dedicated workshop, we replicate the exact stone issues we encounter onsite — including etching, staining, grout problems and damaged finishes. This allows us to test, refine and perfect our approach before we step foot into your home.

We sharpen our skills through:

  • Ongoing specialist training
  • Italian-led porcelain restoration courses
  • Years of hands-on experience
  • Technical study of stone behaviour, chemistry and surface finishes

We are also proud to be an approved More AntiEtch applicator for the South — offering one of the world’s leading protective coatings for delicate stone surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stone Floor Care

Find clear answers to common inquiries about our stone floor cleaning and restoration services. We explain our methods, maintenance tips, and what to expect when working with Hampshire Hard Floor Care.

  • What types of stone floors do you service?

We restore all types of stone and hard flooring, including limestone, travertine, marble, slate, sandstone, yorkstone, terrazzo and granite, as well as porcelain, ceramic, Amtico, Karndean, LVT, vinyl and safety flooring.

We also specialise in restoring stone kitchen worktops, bathroom vanity units, fireplaces and marine stone surfaces. If you're unsure what material you have, we can identify it

  • How do you protect stone floors from damage during cleaning?

We protect your stone floors — and your home — at every stage of the process.

Before any work begins, we carry out tests to ensure the correct chemistry, pads and tools are used for your specific stone type. We protect skirting boards, adjacent flooring, walls and kitchen units with sheeting or barriers, and we control moisture carefully to avoid overwetting.

Our cleaning uses pH-balanced solutions, specialist brushes, and low-abrasion diamond pads designed for safe stone restoration. All slurry and residues are fully extracted, preventing grit from scratching the surface. Finally, we apply a professional-grade stone sealer to help protect the floor from future wear, stains and moisture.

  • How often should stone floors be professionally cleaned and restored?

The frequency depends on the type of stone, how it’s used and the level of foot traffic.

Most stone floors benefit from a professional deep clean every 12–18 months, especially in kitchens and hallways where soil builds up fastest. High-use areas in busy homes or commercial spaces may need cleaning every 6–12 months.

Restoration work such as honing, polishing or resealing is usually required every 2–4 years, depending on wear, maintenance routines and the type of sealer used.

We can assess your floor and recommend a tailored maintenance schedule to keep it looking its best all year round.

  • Can you restore stone floors with existing stains or damage?

Yes — in most cases we can fully restore stone floors that have stains, dull patches or physical damage.

We use professional stain removers, deep-cleaning systems and diamond honing to eliminate marks caused by spills, etching, soil build-up or incorrect cleaning products.

For physical damage, we carry out chip repairs, crack repairs, pit filling and resurfacing, using colour-matched resins to blend seamlessly with the surrounding stone.

While some severe etching or deep staining may require more intensive honing, we’ll always assess the floor first and explain exactly what can be achieved — with most floors returning to a beautifully even, clean and restored finish.

  • Who carries out the work?

All work is carried out personally by our family team — Richard, Michelle and our son Archie. We never use subcontractors, so you always know exactly who is in your home or business. With specialist training, hands-on experience and a genuine pride in our work, we handle every stage of the process ourselves, ensuring consistent quality, care and a friendly, reliable service every time.
